According to official documents, Jermaine’s ex-partner and the mother of his child obtained a court order which allowed the government to withhold $3,750 from his wages. The child’s mother has had recurring problems getting child support from Jermaine and got the order after he fell behind – again. Jermaine is to pay $3,000 per month in child support with additional $750 per month for past due.
The garnishment order allows the government to garnish Jermaine’s future wages as needed to cover the $3,000 per month for child support expenses. What is lesson here? If you are currently paying child support, do not purchase large luxury items if you claim you do not have the money to pay for child support.
